I crawled out of bed, still wearing my Cracker Barrel uniform from the night before and managed to make my way over to the coffee machine. I grabbed my pumpkin spiced coffee, walked over to the couch, and opened his laptop. It was like the television was somehow warning me. My whole body went numb. My thoughts began to race. Who is this naked girl on the screen? She looks a lot like me.

It started off as an impromptu teaching moment for her young stepchildren. Tilli Buchanan and her husband had been installing insulation in their garage, and had stripped off their clothes just inside their home to get the itchy materials off their skin. She was topless when her stepchildren bounded down the stairs. After getting wind of what Buchanan had thought was an innocent encounter, they filed criminal charges against the year-old West Valley City woman. If convicted, Buchanan could land in jail and stay on the sex offender registry for the next 10 years. Buchanan faces criminal penalties for being shirtless in her own home, Richards argues, while her husband was also in the same state of undress and is not charged. By Emily Crane For Dailymail. A Utah woman who was arrested for taking her top off in front of her stepchildren in her own home may be forced to register as a sex offender if she is convicted. If convicted of the charges, Buchanan could be sentenced to prison and register as a sex offender. Tilli Buchanan, 27, faced court on Tuesday after being charged with lewdness over the incident involving her husband's three children, aged 13, 10 and 9, in their West Valley City home. During the court appearance, Buchanan's attorney urged the judge to dismiss the charges and to change the state's lewdness laws because they discriminate against women. She said her husband's children - two boys aged 13 and nine and a year-old girl - appeared 'embarrassed' by her nudity. Police arrested Buchanan earlier this year after the children's mother reported the incident. Buchanan claims she and her husband had been installing insulation in their garage when they stripped down to rinse itchy material off their skin.
